Riddle me this....

On January 16, 2008 one very needy knitter orders yarn and needles for her next knitting project.

On January 17, 2008 package containing yarn and needles ships via "smartpost" (you can already tell where this going, right?)

Package leaves Ohio on January 18 and arrives in Dallas, TX on January 19.

Package leaves Dallas traveling at a rate of 70 mph on IH-35 on January 21 and arrives in San Antonio on January  22.

It  is important  to mention here that the  post office in San Antonio is approximately 4.8235  miles from my house (+/- one standard deviation) and a size 2 16" circular needle contained in this package is needed to finish my beautiful Ivy League Vest (which I am dying to show you!).

When will my package arrive?  :/

It's only Thursday, it's cold, it's rainy and today just plain sucks.

A long overdue post about hair.

It's actually pretty difficult to take a good picture of yourself.  I look like a total dork, but that's my normal look so I guess that's good. :)

In other news, I finally bit the bullet and bought a drum carder so I'll be doing custom blended spinning fiber very, very soon!

Fearless in '08.

First of all, let me start by saying by Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and any other holiday I may have missed since I last blogged.  There's been a lot going on here lately (some of which I will get into tomorrow) and blogging has been the last thing on my mind.

To kick off the rest of 2008, I've decided to get fearless with my knitting, my business and with life in general.   So to start, here comes the knitting part.  I've been wanting to try colorwork for a good while now and never had the guts to do it.  Putting all those fears aside I've decided to knit this:

And to prove that I'm really going to do this, I've already started:

I will finish this project (say it with me, I will finish this project!), yes I will!  To really dive into this, I've made sure that first fair isle garment includes STEEKS!  Yes (pick up your collective jaws), I will be cutting my yarn.

**For those of you not familiar with steeks, it's when you cut into the knitting to create neck holes, arm holes, etc.  Now you too can pick up your jaw off the floor ;)

It'll be okay, I promise.  No knitting will be harmed in future posts.  And if it's not okay, we shall never speak of this again.
